Argentina - Patagonia: Perito Moreno

We rent a car (270 AR$/day) and drove to the Parque National Los Glaciares. We visited the glacier Perito Moreno, which is one of the greatest glaciers in the world, 30 Km length, 5 Km width and 60 m height. It was very impressive from distance view as well as in a closer view. Its color was white but there were spots of transparent-cyan. The only way to get closer to the glacier is along metallic platforms, with many levels and view points. We hear ice cracks of the glacier like thunders, all the time. Then the ice pieces fall in the lake and were creating circular waves.

After hundreds of... photos, we returned back to El Calafate, went to a super market for supplies and then drove to El Chalten. El Chalten is a village created for the trekking of Fitz Roy and it was assumed as the trekking paradise. We drove along a nearly straight road for 230 Km of step (only sand, stones and bushes), without any village but only some farms (estancias). Incredible scenery, in the middle of nowhere, completely alone.
