Plastira Lake

Our first travel was in lake Plastira, a classic and easily accessible destination. We started the tour of the lake from the north, but we are not impressed. But as we head towards the dam, the landscape became more and more interesting, more vegetation and indented coastline. We went to the observatory from where we had a full view of the lake.

Once we found a room in Neochori, we descended to the shore of the lake and rented two mountain bikes. We did 15 Km overall distance, enough for first time.

The next day we hike to the mountain. We started from the village Neraida and reached well above the plateau and the mountain refuge. The track was very green and beautiful.

Then we rented canoes and boating on the lake. At first we moved close to the shore towards the dam and then crossed over the lake and reached across to the opposite shore. Overall we paddle approximately for 2 hours and did not wish to stop. We were the only ones in the lake. The undisturbed water and a little cloud create a compelling atmosphere.
