We arrived at the international airport of Buenos Aires Ezeiza after one hour delay. There was heat and humidity. Our first withdrawal attempt in pesos (AR$) from ATM in the airport was failed, so we exchanged euros to pesos. The taxi from the airport to our hotel in the center cost 120 AR$, much more than the 90 AR$, that the Lonely Planet guide referred to. The rain begun while we were arriving at the hotel.

The first walk in the city was made under light rain, with less people around. We walked along the most famous streets of Lavalle and Florida. Then we crossed the impressive Avenida 9 de Julio (which is assumed the widest avenue of the world, with 7 lanes per direction). The bad weather did not help us to continue.

Fortunately the weather was much better in the afternoon, so we went out again. That time we walked along the dock in Puerto Madero area, where high and modern buildings and high class restaurants existed. The water of the Rio de la Plate was brown and muddy. We crossed the Puente de la Mujer (bridge of woman) made by Calatrava, which is supposed to represent a couple dancing tango. We ended for dinner at the famous restaurant «Cabana Las Lilas» with nice view to the river. But it was very, very expensive. At least the meat and the wine «Cabernet Sauvignon Argento Reserva 2008 - Mendoza» were superior, but we spent a lot of money.

After dinner, we decided to watch a tango show at the famous Cafe Tortoni. We had a bottle of wine again and watched a nice show with dance, songs and acting. We returned by feet to our hotel after 01:00 in the morning, without any event (we have read a lot of nonsense about the dangerous walking at Buenos Aires late at night).
