We left Konitsa. We took the road to Pyrsogianni, a pretty village with beautiful houses. Then went to Voumpiani, and last at Plikati, where the asphalt ended. We started an earth road towards Aetomilitsa. At a fork, we choose to go right instead of left (the road going to a Civil War monument). We did a serious mistake.

Soon we found a truck which was loading logs and straightening the mud. I asked the operator if the road passes but he did not know. We crossed mud road and soon after more problems started. Many stones and rocks in the middle of the road. Every 100 meters, we stopped and removed stones. There was a difficult point with mud and the brunches of a tree prevented going through. We had to hold the branches by hands in order to pass and the car was spinning in the mud. After several attempts we managed to pass.

However, the most difficult point was after a while. There was a narrowing of the road. On the one side, dried mud with logs inside and at the other a cliff. The car could not fit. We had to dig into the mud in order to make room. The mud prevented the car to move slowly. The right wheel had to move on a 20 cm mound on the cliff. We spent over an hour with many efforts in order to pass eventually. We had stretched very much. We could not go back, the night was coming, we were afraid to damage the car. It was a very difficult situation, but fortunately ended successfully.

We did not face any other problem and we arrived at Aetomilitsa tired enough. The car was covered by mud and we found out that we had lost the rear plate. We spend the night in a guesthouse. Theodore, the owner of the guesthouse, offered us tsipouro and snacks.
